Starter

RDE recommends the IMI Hi-Torque starter for the M1.  Known for their reliability and strength, the Hi-Torque starter is equipped with 5 full roller bearings, instead of bushings, to suspend the armature.  The M1 bellhousing is equipped with two openings for the Hi-Torque.  This feature allows for greater flexibility in locating the starter assembly.  It also provides the opportunity to install a dual starter system, where the second starter is available at all times, with the flip of a switch, as a backup to the primary starter.
