Spider Gears

The center support carrier, for the ring gear, is machined from 7075 aluminum in order to reduce rotating mass.  Utilizing the best of the best, the side bearings originally specified for Boeing's 747 landing gear, are used.  The side gears are broached and hardened for durability and the spider gears are designed after those found in the Dana 60.
