Forward Drum The forward drum (located on the far right) is machined from 300M steel. This component, along with the billet 300M input shaft extending through the intermediate case towards the differential case, represents the robust backbone of the M1 Transaxle.

The input shaft has a patented design which adds to its durability and strength. Machined from billet 300M steel, these shafts are machined exclusively for Rancho Drivetrain Engineering by Pro Am Racing products.
The differential case, with its heavy-duty webbing and through-bolts, is designed to provide a bullet-proof mount for the ring and pinion. Versatility is built into the differential case, as it can be set up for both mid-engine and tail-dragger Drivetrain configurations. The oversized fill hole on top of the case is designed to accommodate a borescope for easy visual inspection of the ring and pinion.
